When your cargo weight is light (<10MT) and it’s relatively few, LCL shipment is typically a better option since it’s less expensive compared to Full Container Load (FCL).
Overview
LCL (“Less Than Container Load”) or “part container load” is a type of shipping load where your products or cargo does not occupy a full container. Instead, your products or cargo will be loaded and grouped together with other cargo to fill in an entire shipping container.
You should choose LCL shipping if you have a lighter cargo weight (around 10MT or less). If you have a lighter cargo, LCL is a preferable option because it’s price is lower and you don’t need much space in a container to begin with.
